Thanks everyone, I was pretty inundated today with replies!  Not sure they really is a deal here, but it's been great getting all the feedback!

Thanks @BrianGibbons!

We've spoke a few times- I'm the one with MS.  You gave me a lot of info and I appreciate it.

I saw Ron LeGrand a few weekends ago; a friend belongs to a REI group and took me along. Kind of got me re-motivated.

I've been studying for months and watching various videos- including yours :) - and finally feel like I have to get out of the "study" phase and just start doing.  I hate cold calling, but I made so many calls to FSBOs today that I lost my voice! No deals, but definitely a sense of accomplishment, for trying!

@Jeff Greenberg

I'd love to come out to Santa Monica this weekend, but unfortunately I can't.  Is this a monthly thing?

I used to live in SM and miss it sometimes!  :)

Hi Everyone,

I've been on Bigger Pockets for ages, but have never gotten around to introducing myself- so, hello!

I am a licensed agent in California, but will admit I often feel "green" simply because the market tends to move so fast and I often feel like I can't keep up.

I did do fix/flips in the past and at the time I thought I did pretty well.  :)

I have MS, so that has slowed me down quite a bit.  I'm currently making a concentrated effort to learn lease option deals (thank you Brian Gibbons for your help!) so I can work completely from home. In my other life, I'm an outside rep in the Natural Products Industry.

Getting in and out of stores has become a real challenge, and my days are definitely numbered.  Since I really abhor the idea of living on a relative's couch- I'm trying to make a serious go of real estate.

I like the community feel here at BP, and the fact that people genuinely try to help each other out.  I belong to a few other sites, and that is definitely not the case.  (More spam/scam than actual deals being done.)  So, I look forward to interacting and making some deals happen!

Any BP investors working the Gilbert area of Arizona?  I have a possible lead, but I'm not sure how to work it.

Anyone experienced want to discuss it?  The seller is looking to cash out, not interested in LO's, or anything along that line.

Thanks!

Cydni

I had the opportunity to speak with Brian this morning, and I'm very appreciative of his time, which was considerable.

I have a unique situation, in that I am a licensed agent as well as having been an investor in the past.  But I also have some serious health challenges, which are getting worse seemingly by the day.

Even though I have my license, I feel as though I learned enough to pass the state exam, but not enough to feel comfortable going out and doing business.  And contrary to popular belief, it is not easy or inexpensive to get started as an agent.

Brian had some concrete, actionable ideas for me to pursue.  And he was very gracious and understanding.

Frankly, if I had the money I would sign up for his program.  As someone who has invested in the past and is currently licensed, I am very aware of how much the laws have changed and how easy it is to get yourself in trouble.  In my opinion, if you can afford it a mentor is a great way to go.

Thanks so much for sharing this!

I live in California; it is staggering how much some land leases are.  As far as I know they are mostly found in Orange County, around the beach areas.  So if a price sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Hi,

I think people tend to get annoyed when it is obvious that the same person is posting over and over. It makes it hard to discern between ads.  If you are posting too much, that could be why people are flagging you.

Best of luck!
