@Joshua Espejo welcome to BP and good luck!  I have some family in Las Vegas that I might be able to reach out to to see if they know of any people you can connect with.

Welcome to BP, @Stephen Roesler.  I am right there with you in the learning process and loving the financial freedom mindset.  Ever since I read "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki, I have had a desire to become financially free and believe that BP is going to play a big role in that.

Drive, passion, and willingness to learn, even through failure. I have little capital to invest at the moment, I am working on saving capital right now, but that does not stop me from looking over deals and analyzing houses and properties. I am constantly checking out the for sale magazines that include a lot of the realtors listing around town, my browser home page(s) are pretty much Zillow.com/Realtor.com/Trulia.com or some other MLS. I look for all kinds of properties and even though I don't know what I'm doing (yet), I still crunch the numbers and play around trying to find value that works for me.

@Trovador Dauz Welcome to BP, I am new here as well!  I miss Tempe so much and would love to invest in the Tempe/Gilbert/Mesa area.

@Dmitriy Fomichenko, thank you for the links and suggestions.  I have setup alerts, I did that before I posted to the newbie board :-)  I am pretty sure that I have the Beginner's Guide open right now and plan to read it this morning between tasks at work.

@Kevin Reynolds, I am actually casually looking in the Fayetteville/Springdale and surrounding areas.  Will definitely keep you in mind.  Thanks!

Hello, everyone,

Just wanted to take a second to introduce myself and try to learn my way around the site.  My name is Justin, but I go by JJ (or JayJay).  Currently living in the Fort Smith, Arkansas area and looking to make my first purchase within the next 6 months!  I am excited and driven...and scared as heck, but that's half the fun, right?  I am looking for either a duplex or triplex for a house hack, or a nice fixer-upper to flip.  Currently reading through " How to Invest in Real Estate" for the second time and writing down every question that comes to my mind and taking notes of many other things.

I am looking forward to making this journey alongside all of you.

JJ
