My Mom has a single family rental property where we both live in Oregon and I would like to help save  her some money, starting this year, by managing her rental when I take over management of the 3 rentals my wife and I have. I am unsure if that is possible at all or if it depends on circumstances such as if I am compensated or if I have any ownership stake. I don't have ownership stake and I am happy to do it for little or no compensation. 

I am hoping for concrete answers if anyone has them.

Thanks to each of you for the response and insight.  I am not in a situation yet where I will need to use non-QM lending but I am going to continue my search here locally to find a good fit for when I am ready.

I am wondering if any investors out there have used the New Rez smart series loan products meant for borrowers that may not qualify for conventional lending products.  A couple of the groups it is targeted towards are investors and self-employed borrowers.  I am mostly interested to know how the interest rates may differ from a more traditional route and I would love to hear how someone's experience was using that loan product or something similar that any of you would recommend.

This is my first post and I am looking to find the best possible property management company for the single-family home I just purchased in Gresham which is on the east side of the Portland metro area. I am hoping for a direct recommendation or possibly some guidance on finding the best option for me.
