Hey @Alex Bacon thank you for the reply! I’ve been reading up on a lot of books lately and one of the processes that looked to favor me best was buying a property cash and forcing appreciation then getting a renter in it, after all that is done I would take a loan out on the house and use that capitol to do it all over again. I’m 23 years old and I don’t have the most stable job history I work in the wildland Fire industry so it’s seasonal so my thought was I won’t be able to get the best loan on a bigger priced property at first!

Hey @Leslie Beia thanks for your response! What you are speaking about is happening people are coming from Portland/Vancouver and heading down the river towards The Dalles and Goldendale! I think The Dalles is taking off on its Coolness/hipster factor but it’s got some ways to go!

Thanks for the reply @Brad Hammond! I’m also open to looking in Oregon i live in Goldendale Washington which is about 2 hours from Portland. When you say researching the area what is a good way to find out if rentals are needed and if people are searching for them?

I’m looking into single family, I like the idea of sometime of foreclosure or short sale. I live in southern central Washington so somewhere around there also open to Oregon as well. Thanks for the reply!

Hello! My name is Colby, and I’m looking to get into rentals. I have about $100,000 and would like to buy the first one cash. I live in Washington state and am just wondering what some of you professionals would do? Where is the first place you would start?
