Post: Thoughts on a three-way partnership?

Hello everyone. I am looking to purchase my first investment property next year and have two friends who are interested in investing with me. I have been thinking about forming a three-way partnership, but am not super familiar with partnerships or how they work.

I'm fairly confident the set-up could work. I possess the most real estate knowledge (very minimal compared to the rest of BP), my one friend is a finance wizard and has a large amount of capital, and my other friend is an electrician and could handle some maintenance. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you in advance.

Hi all. I'm from Columbus but have been looking into Dayton as a potential location for my first investment property. What are some pros and cons of investing in Dayton? I'm not too familiar with the city so any information is appreciated. Would love to connect with some Dayton investors as well. Thanks in advance.

If you are living in Columbus I would recommend buying something you can easily check on. I bought my first duplex and lived it in. Then bought 3 more 4 units within .4 miles of each other. I used to walk to my properties to mow the grass

Definitely a good point. Would save a ton of time and money. Appreciate your input.

You live in the one of the best investment markets in the country, why not get a househack 2-4 unit?

That would be ideal, I'm just not seeing too many properties in my price range in Columbus. I'm sure if I stay patient and be proactive an opportunity will present itself. Also thought it could be a good idea to learn about different markets in Ohio, possibly for the future.

Post: Getting financing as a college student

Hi everyone. I am currently a junior at Ohio State but am eager to get started in Real Estate, preferably before graduating. Is it possible to get financing as a college student? I know most lenders require you to have a full-time job, but I am unsure if there are any creative options out there.

My finances are in pretty good shape. I have been saving for a down payment and have a decent size cash reserve. My credit score is fair as well. I am currently working full time but will transition to part time once school rolls around. I am also in the Army National Guard, which is another stream of income. Not sure if that would help my case or not. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to BP Arthur! I'm in a similar position as you and have been doing a couple of things to gain more knowledge. On my way to and from work I listen to the BiggerPockets and Real Estate Rookie podcasts. I usually get through an episode or two a day and learn a ton from them. I would also suggest hanging out in the forums every day just readings posts, the forums are a goldmine for information. Lastly start connecting with local investors, agents, and brokers so by the time you're ready to jump in you have some people in place. Good luck!

Post: At what stage in the buying process should I consider engaging a contractor?

Hi all. I am still very new to the real estate game and have a question about engaging contractors. Is this something investors line up before purchasing a property? Or something to worry about after closing? Planning ahead and having one before closing sounds like the better option to me but am wanting to get some feedback.  Thank you in advance!

Hi all. As someone who is extremely new to real estate investing, one of my Immedient goals is to get my name out there. Whether it's attending local meetups or real estate clubs, I want to be there.

Is it important for aspiring investors like me to have business cards for these kinds of events? Or is this something to worry about in the future?

Thank you in advance!
