We've been happy with the service (tried a few similar services in years past that gave users with different devices various errors and complications, nice to see someone getting it right).  Like Andrew, if a gust objets we give them the password to the normal network, that rarely happens.  The login is very similar to what you might see at a Starbucks, or certain hotels.

Thanks!  I have a device ordered and in route!

How do you like it so far?

We have just been collecting info so far but planning to start a marketing push soon.  The hardware is decent.  Range is just ok compared to google wifi.

Wordpress on Linode for $5/month with the STR theme you choose.

The price sounds attractive.  I took a quick look at their site but not sure where to start.  Anymore details or a link that you may be willing to share?  Thanks!

We use and have had minimal to almost no guest pushback on inputting their email.  The little bit we have had we just give them the standard network credentials so they can log in directly and bypass StayFi

Thanks Andrew.  That makes perfect sense.

Hey @Chris Napierala, if you have tech experience, which I assume means web creation and/or programming, then you can look at Wordpress as a hosted platform on Blue Host or some other top Wordpress hosting company.

There are a ton of widgets and API's for Wordpress just for STR or hoteliers etc.

Also, it would be good to get a primer on SEO to promote your site. There is a lot of work to build a presence but it could be worth it.

Thanks i was looking at wordpress!

Your site looks like mine is it from Hostaway?? I have a meeting Monday or Tuesday with a web developer but I think I'll end up using a template. Would love to collaborate since we are working on the same thing. I'll shoot you a DM.

Yes it is Hostaway and that sounds great!

We currently have a direct booking site sunset-mtn.com but I want to expand the site so that I can add more pictures, do some blogging, add a subscribe page etc.

I have a very technical background but haven't had a need to do anything like this for years and am looking for recommendations on a model to use to promote interest and a website host that is cost effective and easy to use.  Technically speaking I was planning to stand up a new site and link back to the PMS direct booking page.

My basic idea is to provide reviews of local places as ideas for folks visiting the area to generate interest.  I would collect their email during bookings, using stayfi to connect to wifi etc. And then send out occasional messages linking back to the site which would host all these reviews/posts and obviously a link to book.

Love to get thoughts on this and recommendations on tools to use.

I use it in my 3900 sqft house w/ no extender and so far so good.  The house is two stories so everything pretty compact.  They recommended the extender but I tried it without it first and it's been fine.

Good product.  I just wish they'd listen to my advice of allowing the option of not requiring the guest to enter their info when they opt out of marketing.  Gotten a few complaints and one bad review because of it, but captured a lot of emails.

Thanks for the response.  Have you thought of putting some details regarding how the access internet and what is required to do so in your description or somewhere else applicable?

It's not that they're not able to connect, it's just that it creates distrust when the guest unchecks the checkbox to opt out of marketing, but still has to put their name/email in to connect.  StayFi should provide the option for the user to bypass putting in that info if they opt out of marketing.

If they opt out of marketing there's no reason to still require them to enter their info since we're not collecting it at that point anyway.  But then the user gets suspicious that they unchecked the box but still get an error that they HAVE to provide that info in order to connect, and thinks we're still collecting it even though they opted out.

That makes sense.  Do you still feel it's worth it knowing that?
