So the best (least expensive & most durable) option for new flooring in a rental would be...laminate?

Thanks @PatrickLiska and @Thomas S. I will ask for just the schedule E and maybe that will make it more acceptable. Re: getting a copy of a lease: How do I make sure that what they give me is the real lease? There is one tenant who I have been told is a friend of the owners.

  1. Hi, I was reading @Brandon Turner book on Rental Property Investing that you can ask the seller for their tax return ( in order to see the least fabricated profit from a rental property); however, I asked my RE agent for the sellers tax return and they said I am not legally allowed to see them, and that it was the seller's private information. Did they not understand why I would want to see them? Should I ask again and explain the reason why....or should I ask for 1 or 2 specific forms of the tax return? Or is this what you do when you are dealing directly with the seller?

Thanks @Chris Allenwhich list do you find to be the most accurate?

Interesting @Gino BarbaroI thought that Putnam had higher than Westchester because of very pricey towns like Cold Spring

@Jenna Stonecipher Thanks for those additions. Im in Brooklyn where there's a super high entry level to get started in REI but I've heard about some other folks who used NACA and were pleased.

I've asked a couple of real estate agents about that, but haven't been able to find an agent who knows/has experience with pre-foreclosures or REO in Brooklyn...so I'm still searching-if you know anyone in the NYC area please let me know!
