@Danny Webber Thanks for your input.  Texas is definitely high on our list of potential markets to invest in.  Austin, in particular, is appealing with Tesla and the other big tech companies moving to the area.

@Bruce Lynn yes, that's the plan!

@Melanie Johnston We may be headed to the Phoenix area in the near future to explore the neighborhoods.  If we do plan a trip I will let you know.

@Marcus B Hsu I've been meaning to read David Greene's book on long distance investing.  Sounds like it's a useful resource.  I'm curious to know how you ended up choosing AZ and AL as your markets.

@Lina Yi I'm hoping to find such deals in SD as well!

@Twana Rasoul yes, I'd be interested in learning more about how your local investments compare to those out of state.  I'll send you a private message.

@Arn Cenedella Thanks for the advice.  I'm looking to be an active investor and have control over the investments.  Thankfully I have a job that is flexible and allows me to do so.

@Twana Rasoul Thanks!

It would certainly be much more convenient to invest here if I'm able to find something.  I know that properties in SD appreciate well but have you been able to find deals that cash flow?

I'm an emergency medicine physician in San Diego who is looking to get into real estate investing. I'm new to this space and have been devouring books, podcasts and youtube videos for the past couple of months.  From what I've learned so far the things that appeal most are small multifamily properties and larger apartment syndications.

The San Diego market is a challenging place to find cash-flowing rentals so we're looking to invest out of state.  Arizona and Texas both look like promising locations but we're still doing research to identify our market.

Excited to be part of this community!
