Hello everyone, I'm looking for advice on investing in the areas around Marist College (Poughkeepsie, NY), SUNY Oneonta (Oneonta, NY), and Binghamton University (Binghamton, NY).  I would love to get some feedback or a chance to hop on a call and connect with agents and experienced investors who know these areas well.

I'm specifically interested in single-family properties and wonder if anyone has had success in this market with similar investments. What are some of the potential challenges I should be aware of? Are there any up-and-coming neighborhoods or areas that I should keep an eye on?

I would appreciate any advice or insights that you can offer. Thank you in advance for your help!

As of right now, I'm taking using my time to learn real estate investing while doordashing.  This works well for me because I'm a college student so I can spend my time driving and listening to podcasts while making money that I hope to use to fund my first investment.

The money isn't AMAZING but it's certainly better than nothing.  Not to mention, making money is no longer limited by the hours I get scheduled for at my other job doing marketing for a home inspection company.

I'm in a very similar position, Devin. Wising you all the best throughout your REI journey!

Hello all!  I was recently gifted 1/3 of an acre property in Sarasota, Florida from a family member.  There is nothing built on the property, and it’s all overgrown. I have around about 10k to work with, curious what moves, if any, I could make with this property.

Thanks in advance!

I've been listening to the BP podcast and finally decided to hop on the forum to try and expand my knowledge. I'm attending college in Manhattan, NY and I'm looking for ways to get started in real estate investing, aside for REIT's. I have around $9,000 that I can afford to invest (I understand isn't much considering where I live). Does anybody have any ways that somebody in my position could get started?
