I think properties near the fairgrounds are way over-priced right now, and they will come back down to where they should be in the next year or two. In another 10 years though who knows. Hopefully they will do some expanding and get businesses south of Kern.

Hi BP. I am a new investor who currently lives in South Bend, IN. I am 30 yrs old with no kids. I have a full time job with a stable, comfortable income. I want to secure a retirement, and I am not sure my 401k will do that for me, so i have recently become interested in REI. I have been reading forums, books, and listening to the BP podcasts for months. I purchased my first home in May, and I am renting a room to a friend/co-worker which helps pay the mortgage. I would like to acquire a few SFR's with some cashflow, although i am having a hard time finding deals in today's market. it would be great to connect with others in the area and all advice here is welcome.
