I've only been doing the wholesaling thing as a part time gig aside from work school and other business endeavors and I wanted to add some people to my friend list who are either doing Wholesaling or getting into wholesaling. I want to surround myself with people who are doing this not only in IL but anywhere so I can receive help and give help if possible 

The question I have is about getting properties under contract how exactly does it work? I understand a person signs and it basically transfer there rights to another person? My question is where to you obtain these contracts and what are some of the laws around it in Chicago, IL. I want to gain a better understanding on a contract is and this aspect of wholesaling. If you guys have any books or podcast that go more in depth with this please tell me about them. Thank you

Welcome @Brittani Miller to Bigger Pockets this site is a encyclopedia for REI. I'm still fairly new and haven't made my first deal but I have attended two REI meet-up and met a lot of interesting and well informed people who have been in this business for a long time that offer helpful advise. A book that I recommend would be Nothing Down by Robert Allen I'm currently reading and I think its great if your like me who doesn't have little to no exp doing REI. Good luck with everything

I want to know can you still wholesale a house that has a lis pendens from what I discovered about a lis pendens is that its a lean against the house and anyone who buys the house picks up the remaining amount plus what ever they have to pay on the house, and does a house or mutli family home that has a lis pendens auomatically make it bad to try and wholesale if it is possible to wholesale. Please correct anything if its wrong I'm trying to learn as much as possible.

Thank you @Brie Schmidt for sharing your story it's stuff like this that drive my inspiration spirit to one day have financial freedom even though I'm still very young. Even though I haven't made any purchase in real estate yet I'll be sure to read this when I get doubts from 8 to 48 is a huge step wish you nothing but the best moving forward
