Ok , I’m interested in everyone’s opinion on how they would reach the goal in this scenario. Your goal is to get 50 doors preferably a rental complex and quit your job. Your starting with 1000 dollars . You want to get the 50 doors in two to five years. You currently have a job that pays ok but it sucks up twelve hours of your day. However you live in Southern California, so you live pay check to paycheck. You can save about 100 bucks a month if you stretch things out. You have a family of 5 living with you so you can’t really move from place to place. You have a credit score around 620. How would you make that work and reach your goal? Be detailed as possible. If you haven’t guessed it that’s what I have to work with and I feel like it’s impossible to get started, but I also know that anything’s possible, so help me out guys, i need advice!

This may be a dumb question, but im new to BP and having difficulty finding my way through the hundreds of thousands of posts. Is there a way to Search all the forums for just those that deal with certain topics? (IE: "no money down investing", or "best cities to invest", etc....)

I guess i'm getting this all wrong then? I was hoping to start with Brandon's advise by getting a duplex, then a 4 plex , then doubling the amount of rentals every 90 days until i had enough cash flow to quit. Is this not realistic?

I'm a Southern California Native, and new to real estate. I happened come across a forum that said I should listen to bigger pockets. I did and wow. I'm really excited to get out of a dead end job and I need some Direction. Unfortunately , California is a terrible place to live to make a living. the cost of living is way too high and I barely make ends meet. I can't move as my whole family is here, and my daughters acting career is here as well. How or what are the first steps to buying out of state property? what is the best investor towns right now? (I'd like to buy a duplex or triplex to start. I need a place where rent is high and cost of property is fairly low) and how do I find a reputable , trustworthy person in another state to help me close on deals?

thanks in advance . I hear the BP community is the best!
