Keller Williams is a great place to start they offer endless training, coaching, and give you plenty of resources once you get started which all give you a huge advantage over other agents.  Their motto is that they are an "Education Company not a Real Estate Company" they basically give you all of the tools you need to become a successful agent. If you get a chance check out the book The Millionaire Real Estate Agent by Gary Keller. It's a pretty good synopsis of what the company is all about, and even if you don't choose to work with them its an excellent outline of how to be a successful agent.

Best of Luck

Hi Ryan,

That sounds like an incredible deal for Hyde Park.  Considering you would be owner occupying this could be a viable route to pursue the property.  I'm not sure if the bank would look at it before it went public, however if you're ready and willing to apply for the loan I think it could be a great way to see how the process works and they could very well go for it.  The best way to get started in this business is just to take action especially since you've already done some analysis on the deal.  I am a Realtor in this region so please let me know if you need any help with this.

Good luck!

Hi Everyone!

I am a Realtor in the Southeastern Massachusetts region looking to specialize in helping investors.  If you are looking to invest in Taunton, Brockton, Attleboro or other surrounding towns and need an agent please let me know!

These areas are really up and coming and can be a great alternative to people who work in the Boston area, but can't afford to live or invest there.  With commuter rail stations established and being proposed all across this region it is a great place to live affordably while still having convenient access to the city.

Thank you!

Hi Macy,

Welcome to Bigger Pockets, as I'm sure you've already seen there is so much information here to help you get started and the community is extremely helpful as well.  I am a realtor in the southeastern MA area so please let me know if there's anything I can help you with in this area.  Boston is definitely a tough market to start off in, but if you do decide to stay in state then there are certainly affordable deals in the surrounding areas.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I'm really excited to get started and I must say this is a very nice change of pace from the real estate gurus which is, unfortunately where I began this journey. It's really nice to see so many people working together and willing to help one another.

@Rich Ng my current plan was to start buying multi-families in the south coast area starting with an FHA loan. However, now that I've found all of these resources I think I'm going to read up some more to see if that still seems like the best option for me.

Hey everyone,

I'm a recently graduated civil engineer working in the construction field looking to get started with real estate investing, and hopefully move in the direction of development with a vison for sustainable home building.
