It's clear the basement floods as a basement waterproofing company installed a full system in 2016. When asked about it he said "You know as much about that as I do". I asked for a seller's disclosure statement; we'll see if it shows up.

Thanks everyone! Just joined Bigger Pockets a month or so ago, it's been hugely helpful :)

We looked at a property yesterday and the realtor was very cagey; no information, no sellers disclosure, no idea about whether it was sewer or septic. He said he told the seller “the less I know the better”. Very odd. We like the property but I feel he’s hiding something. Thoughts?

Searched the forum and didn’t find anything current about the current status of the market and its potential effect on real estate. I’m looking to purchase a fix and flip that will take some time to complete (1779 stone farmhouse, right in my construction companies wheelhouse). Probably would be ready for sale late summer. Should I assume this will all just be in the rear view mirror by then? Or will people still be licking their financial wounds? Any strategies for picking up the property at the best price in the current climate? Thanks everyone!

I’ve used the same subcontractors for years; carpenters, electrician, plumber, roofer. We’ve talked for some time about building a new or rehabbing an existing home together. Asking if anyone has had experience putting together a consortium of trades as investors, if and how it worked, or why this is a bad idea. Thanks!

@Remington Lyman I’d suggest hiring contractors you can trust. Licensed, insured, get references.
