I would recommend looking into Verifast or Snappt to help with vetting applications. Both of these sites can help reduce the time to verify an application.

@Rachel Jones - Does Zillow do anything to help verify an application?

Hi Charm,

Are you trying to create criteria for the next time this happens you know if you will automatically deny it? Like if an applicant has over $200 in a Utility Collection?

Hi @Brandon Rodriguez - We just had our second daughter so had to delay some of our plans since the wife wanted to focus our finances on her first before we moved forward with investing in converting a home into an assisted living home. So I am just keep squireling money away lol.

@Nick Van Sandt , here is a list of a few cities you should at look at around the DFW area:

Desoto / Lancaster / Mesquite / Keller / White Settlement / Cleburne (which is a little bit out of the DFW market but starting to become a good rental market)

Investors we work with have found great deals in these areas.

What areas in TN are you looking to invest in? An investor we work with found a great deal on a fixer-upper 4plex in Cleveland, TN.

Hi @Heather Rudy - I will defiantly try to keep you and everyone informed about my progress in this. As of right now I am in just saving $$ mode since I will probably need to pay around 10k for a fire suppression system in the property as well as the initial 6k for inspection and state approval.

Towards the middle of 2018 we will also start looking for a good ranch style house that has at least 4 bedrooms, basement (hopefully finished), and a garage that I might convert into a bedroom since more rooms mean more clients.

@Ray Hollins - In Colorado you have to get QMAP certified which is basically their version of the Healthcare Administrator License.

@Trevor Lohman - Yeah, the type of home assisted living I am wanting to start does not provide trained medical care such as nurses but individuals that have been certified by Colorado (QMAP) to take care of individuals in need. So basically my live-in providers would do the cooking, cleaning, providing medications (which includes injections).

Was just hoping that someone might be able to answer my question that if there were changes to Medicaid or Medicare similar to these last two healthcare bills proposed would that make starting this type of business more risky? :)

@Taylor Chiu - Usually your states Department of Public Health will have the requirements. In regards to good resources for how to start this type of endeavor I haven't been able to find them. I am lucky that my wife knows people that have successfully started and some that have failed doing this. I use them as my resources. :)
