Thank you all for taking your time to give me some feedback! I have actually learned a great deal from what you shared. @Claire Trammell and @Justin Silverio, could you possibly share with me when you started mailing, how many pieces you sent out and today how many pieces do you send out? Also, what type of list do you typically use? I seriously appreciate your feedback.

Hello BPers!

My brother and I have been getting quotes on as many direct mail printers in Connecticut (mainly Fairfield County) as possible. I was wondering if anyone could refer me to any printers that have fair rates and do a good job either around Connecticut area or anywhere else. The more options the better!

We have also been debating the best techniques to send to potential motivated sellers. How many times do you usually mail to the same address before moving on? We came up with the number 6, but I would like to know what more experienced marketers have to say. Also, do most people find that they have a better response rate from yellow post cards or mailers in an envelope that need to be opened up with a more personalized message in them? What do people find is the most important aspect of mailings; if there is one thing that you MUST do, what is it? There are so many questions on such a topic, but any advice to help us get started would be amazing.

Thanks everyone!

@Jason Gerasia That sounds great, hopefully we can meet up in the near future. It looks like we are in similar markets!

@Steve B. Albany has far more potential right now as far as ROI, I also think the market is less saturated with investors up there (although there are obviously plenty). But I plan to invest in both markets once I find my niche. Do you work mainly in Schenectady? Hopefully we get a chance to meet when I am around the area.

Thanks @Cody Begg! I will definitely do that.

Hello Jonathan Makovsky , It was great to meet you at the SoCT REIA with my brother Joe. I'm going to do my best to make it out to join you for this one. Hopefully we will both see you there! Chris

Thank you @Phelim Lennon! I am considering looking in Bridgeport in the near future, if any questions come up, I won't hesitate to shoot you a message. That is very kind of you. I'm going to need all the advice I can get at this point! Good luck to you, hopefully we talk soon!

@Rick Santasiere I didn't realize you were a realtor! I hope my comment didn't offend you, it wasn't my intention. You're right, the market in Fairfield County is completely saturated with realtors who live in the area, I know this because my brother is one of them. I am sure you get enough business in the central Connecticut market anyway (which I wouldn't touch right now because I don't know much about it) Good luck to you as well, maybe our paths will cross someday!

Hello everyone doing some investing in CT!

I am new to the business and plan to become an expert in Fairfirld County (even though @Rick Santasiere wont touch it) region because that is where I am and know the most about. Like @Ken Colwell mentioned, the Southern Connecticut REIA is tomorrow evening starting at 5:30pm, Norwalk city hall, and it is $25 to attend. I hope this helps some of you. If I can make it, I hope to meet some of you there and possibly work together in the future. You know what they say, 17 heads are better than 1!

@Jacqueline Carrington

I'm a day late on viewing this! Although your markets are just outside of mine, I would love to be included in your next post next months meet up if that is possible! You seem very vocal on BP and I would love to connect with you and others from your area. Are your meet ups typically on Tuesdays? Look forward to meeting you the next time around if my schedule permits me to!

Happy Investing and thanks!

Chris

@John Van Uytven

Thank you for being the first to welcome me! I am currently reading the Ultimate Beginners Guide and plan to read much more.

My brother and I are very close, but have never started a business together. This will be the first time and hopefully the last! We have already made multiple offers on properties and will hopefully close our first cash deal next week.

Thanks for your help and kind words, hope to see you around the site!!

Chris

P.S. I plan to be as awesome as possible, you do the same, my friend :)
