Hello all,

After a long hiatus, I've restarted our Northern Virginia Investor Networking! Our meetups used to take place at Wegmans, but these new ones will be taking place on a monthly basis.

Our meetup is meant to provide 1) an opportunity for visitors to come network with other like minded real estate investors and 2) an educational moment for visitors to learn about a topic that is relevant to being a real estate investor. Each meeting will be broken down into: 

9:00 AM - 9:15 AM - Open networking

9:15 AM - 9:25 AM - Brief introductions

9:25 AM - 9:45 AM - Educational moment

9:45 AM - 9:50 AM - Market update

9:50 AM - 10:00 AM - Have/wants 

Our first topic is going to be about LLC and Corporation formation, the advantages of doing so and going about it.

Our topics for the rest of the year will be:

1. Financing a flip.
2. Identifying investment properties
3. Explaining the real estate transaction process
4. 1031 exchanges
5. Considerations for investors that are different from normal real estate transactions
6. Estimating expenses on a flip 

Each topic will be presented by somebody who works in an area specific to the topic. If you think there's a topic you'd like to seen discuss or would like to discuss, please send me a message and let me know.

I am sticking away from Meetup right now just because it costs money to host on Meetup. 

This is a meetup for real estate investors so that people can get motivated to become investors and learn things from other investors and professionals. As an attorney, I'd be happy to start off our meetings with some hand out(s) describing something important in the realm of real estate law and I know other professionals such as CPAs, loan officers, and contractors who'd be happy to contribute. Hopefully folks to gain the confidence to get going. We'll be meeting every second Saturday of the month.

Meetings at:

8609 Westwood Center Drive, Vienna, Virginia - It's an office building by the Wal-Mart in Vienna.

There's visitor parking on the front and side of the building, but if no spots are available, you can park in the parking structure in the back of the building, but please do NOT park in reserved spots. Our meeting room will be the Mid-Atlantic Settlement Services office on the first floor in the back of the building. Please enter by the rear of the building as the doors will be locked and I'll buzz you in. If you park in the structure, I'll give you a parking pass when you come in.

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that there's a good chance we'll be having our next meetup this Saturday!

Going forward, we'll be looking to hopefully do every 2nd Saturday of the month at a conference room in our office building at 8609 Westwood Center Drive.

I say hopefully pending the schedule for the conference room that the building has. If it's approved, I'll post a new event.
