Welcome Chris !

Good stuff here, very good stuff...

@Account Closed

Gentlemen, Thank you.  You've given me much to consider, I appreciate it !

Hello BP community,

I'm looking for some help. I currently rent and do not own property. I'm looking to purchase an investment property first because buying a house for my family right now, financially isn't in the cards and I want to begin my REI path. So my question is this, how will buying a (non owner occupied) rental property first, impact buying a primary residence later (hopefully in a few years) with a low percentage down or first time buyer type loan ? I'm concerned about not being unable to take advantage of something like that because I technically won't be a first time buyer.

HELP ?

Chris H.

@Patrick McCandless

With this one yes, mostly appreciation with the intention of holding. I'll be honest until I have the first under my belt, I'm playing conservative. I would like to see cash flow but have to accept the fact that it may not for a few years.

Thanks @Patrick McCandless

I like the growth opportunities in that city, projecting the next 10-20 years steady but solid.

I'm also not at all adverse to Chandler & Mesa.  I really like the East Valley.

Your thoughts ?

Hello BP Community!

I'm Chris and I'm very excited to get started. I'm in the process of finding my first property. I'm pre-qualled for a conventional loan with 20% down, so I have some skin in the game. Im looking to buy in Gilbert AZ. I'm interested primarily in buy and hold.  After my first one I plan to look at other markets around the country. Any helpful info is much appreciated.  I look forward to getting my first one under my belt and starting on the next ones.  Acquiring 20 cash flow properties in 24 years when I plan to retire is what I have set out to do.

I look forward to hearing from my new friends in the BP community.

Thanks !
