Post: Seeking recommendations for attorney/accountant in North Carolina

I'm about to take over property management for a property that my father-in-law owns and will be fixing it up and renting it out as a vacation rental. I'm looking for good recommendations for how to set up a separate account for this venture separate from my personal bank account since we'll be incurring expenses and have a steady stream of rental income, which will be split 50/50. I would appreciate any recommendations for investor-friendly real estate attorneys and accountants/CPA's in the Raleigh, North Carolina (NC) area.

Thanks so much!

As for a place to *live* it really depends on what you value (walkability, short commute time, near nightlife, etc.) and how much you're looking to pay. I live in Raleigh currently near the Crabtree Valley neighborhood because it's extremely inexpensive and in a really great location close to my husband's office.

As far as investing goes, I'm looking in other areas near NC State University, West Downtown, Central Raleigh, East Raleigh (but it really varies block to block...), North Hills, and some other small pockets. You can also use www.walkscore.com to help you get an idea of some of the best neighborhoods to get involved in.

Hope this helps and welcome to Raleigh!

I would echo Josh's comment. I'm pretty familiar with Airbnb short-term rentals and you would probably get $85-$300/night from short-term renting it (furnished), depending on the size of the house & location.

Of course during peak season you're likely to get closer to $200-$500/night. I know some people who only rent out their place short term furnished for peak season and make the same amount as leasing it for 6 months unfurnished.

If you're curious what you think your property would rent for on a nightly basis, PM and I'd be happy to take a look :)

Hi Brooks! I live in Raleigh as well -- haven't bought any investment properties yet, but hoping to soon! For now I rent out my home while I'm out of town on Airbnb.com for short-term rental and I'm hoping to do more of that soon! Whereabouts is your duplex/quad?
