Well is all my private information in my loan out in the world?   ID theft?  Privacy laws were broken at the bank?

So my neighbor told me very specific closing information about our home and said that our old neighbor told her.

The old neighbor had mentioned to my wife that she used to work for a bank (not the one we worked with) and still has contacts that she talked to.

The information relayed was so specific that we were shocked.

What would you recommend I do?

I'm building a new house and was told to get builders insurance.  The quotes I have included a bunch of silly things on them like "jewelry" protection which seems nuts.

What is the bare minimum insurance coverages you would recommend during the building of a new home?

I'll switch the insurance over to my car insurance carried as they do not do builder rates.

@Jim Blackburn If you look at my post above I mentioned working with UW credit union.

Summit Credit Union. I'm now working through 15-ARM with UW-Credit Union. Looking good. They have a portfolio that deals specifically with this stuff.

I was turned down by my current lender for a refi-loan on my condo due to the following reasons.

- 35% of the units are owned by a single investor (this needs to be under 10%).

-only 31% of the units are owner occupied or second homes.

- 25% are past due on the condo dues. (Not a big deal not as most are only like 20 days out.)

- Rental - commercial property.

Where should I look to find a lender to handle a deal like this in WI?

Thanks!

Casey
