I could use some recommendations for a good realtor who knows investment properties.

Right now, I'm just looking at Detroit itself. Where should we start? West side in Fitzgerald Mary Grove? Or Redford? Or Lahser? It's such a huge city.

Thanks,
Carolyn

Thanks, Michael. That's the feeling I've been getting. It's complicated trying to navigate, especially from a distance.

I've been investing in Michigan for a few years, but haven't ventured into Detroit until now. I've got some leads on nice houses, but I don't know the neighborhoods. I understand Detroit has a checkered history with bad areas, but I don't know what the recommended areas for rental properties are right now. Is there anywhere I should avoid? What are the best markets for SFRs that I should be looking at?

Post: Mobile Home Park query

For those of you who develop mobile home parks, perhaps you can help me make a decision. I have an opportunity to buy a  5 acre lot zoned for mobile homes, but it is only partly developed. It has sewers, but no water. If you were to buy such a park, would that stop you from investing? What kind of overhead would be needed to put in water for a 54 mobile home park?

Thanks for sharing your insight.

Hi BPs,

I'm looking for a handyman or contractor to take a few pictures and do a quick assessment from the curb of some off-market properties in Calhoun County.

Is there anyone here interested or anyone you would recommend? It's some easy money for a few hours work.

Pleased to meet you.

ON REIA is a really active real estate group in London. Shawn Allen and Jenn Bowdring run it. You'll find them on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube:

Hi Taylor,

I'd recommend the ON REIA (Ontario Real Estate Investors Association) run by Shawn and Jen Allen. They meet at the Lamplighter Inn on Wellington most months during the school year. It's a very supportive and welcoming group. They have a Facebook group for more information.

Hope to see you there.

Thanks all. In the end, we continued acting as our own property managers. The cost and limitations of having someone else take care of it just didn't make financial sense. We've got great new tenants now who we hope will remain for the long term.
