I will contact these companies tomorrow and go over my tax situation... hopefully one or more can help me with a HELOC. Thank you for the referrals.

My goal is to separate my assets in a holding company and a traditional SMLLC as a management company... all for asset protection... not for tax reduction.

The Holding company LLC and all LLCs with it will be SMLLCs. I have a consultation with an attorney tomorrow (Mark J. Kohler firm), hopefully determine the best scenario for my assets.

I will as about the C Corp option .... or LLC taxed as an S.

My appointment is with the same lawyer (Jarom Bergeson) .. and I sent him a list as well of options that I found online to get his opinion on the best structure. Ill post some notes after the consultation.

It's providing you no tax benefits and no legal protection.

Please advise and discuss further...thanks.

I agree.. I wish the appointment was with him... its with an attorney at his firm, hopefully this attorney has a lot of experience and gives we several legal options... not another sales pitch.

Hi,

I'm paying for a 30 minute consultation with an attorney at Mark J. Kohler firm next week and would like to know your experience with this firm. I'm considering restructuring my rentals, the goal is asset protection and anonymity.

Thanks.

I will register the Management LLC in KS and MO to be safe.

By forming a Holding LLC with several LLCs within it, that will ONLY own RE, not be conducting business...then forming a traditional LLC to deal with tenants, contractors, etc. (the Management LLC)

-Can I open several checking accounts using just one EIN number? the EIN of the Managing LLC? by doing this I will have technically one checking account per LLC, to keep transactions separate.

-If I open a checking account using the EIN of each LLC that is inside the LLC in the holding company, Im actually linking the LLC that owns the RE with the Management LLC... and defeating the "separation" of the Holding LLC and Managing LLC?

Trying to determine the best way to keep the accounting on each LLC sedate from each other.

Im thinking on opening a holding company, maybe an LLC in Wyoming or a Series LLC, not sure yet to hold the rentals, also my rentals are located in Missouri and Kansas and both estates allow Series LLCs.

My questions is regarding the traditional LLC that you suggest to manage the properties, collect rents, etc. If I open this type of LLC, do I have to open one in KS and register also in MO? This LLC will have one checking account? do all tenants deposit their rent payments into one account, will this be "commingling" funds?

Thank you for your help.

Hi... no bank in the Kansas City Area?
