Hello everyone, So my fiancé and I have decided to buy a modest home to move into from our current apartment. Our goal is to buy our first home within 6-12 months and buy a rental property possibly a year thereafter. For some background we live in Frisco, Texas where the market is blowing up but my question is whether anyone has ever heard of or dealt with getting financing through hometown heroes. In addition, being a newbie I'm struggling with how much to put down on our first home with the goal of trying to purchase a rental property within a year after our first purchase. Any ideas? Thank yall Carlitos

A lot of investors target Garland and Mesquite. You should be able to find something in the 1.3-1.5% rent/price rule range.

Nice, thanks for that information @Andrew Herrig

 Hey @Lance Phillips,

I'm new to the forum as well but I am curious to hear your take on the Dallas multi-family market. I have noticed it's really hard to get your hands on duplex in the north dallas area, but I havent been searching for too long.

I've noticed there's a good bit of investors in the Dallas area and was looking for some advice as I start with my first rental SFH. I am not opposed to looking within an hour or two drive from where I currently live, which is borderline Plano/Frisco.

If someone could share their experience in this area, I'd greatly appreciate it.
