Post: New Investor in Brooklyn, NY

Hello All!

I'm Alex, a 24 year old new investor in Brooklyn, NY. I'm finally taking the plunge after sitting on the edge of the pool for a few years (boo!) and I'm pretty excited about it.

Initially, given my financial state, I'm looking to get into wholesaling/flipping to build up cash reserves and eventually get into rentals.

This past week I placed ads in two local papers (Amsterdam News and The Village Voice, if anybody is local), and just ordered bandit signs. In the meantime, i'll try to find a staple gun to get these signs up on poles and...I guess some zip ties too. For some reason I'm a little nervous about putting the signs out around here. For one, I foresee it being a little awkward carrying and hanging them, as I don't drive and would have to lug them around on foot, in addition to a stool/ladder (if i decide to go that route).

Has anyone ever paid someone to distribute bandit signs?

Overall, I'm excited. I've got cards and while I'm not conducting a mass campaign to thousands of homeowners on a list (baby steps), I'm sending postcards to about 20 homeowners of boarded up/abandoned homes I found while walking around Brooklyn.

Very open to Networking, so if you know of any clubs/groups in NYC or would like to talk/connect to see how we could possibly help one another, send me a message!

Thanks in advance and I look forward to sharing success very soon.

I also would like to know more about MTN's. Everybody's "got a source"...which I've learned is usually somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody who has a friend in some institution.

I also haven't seen been able to find much literature about it either.....
