Post: Stuck in a contract for over a year

We signed a contract to purchase our home from a builder who promised to have the product finished by July of last year. And it is still not finished yet.

The builder and broker are very pushy, had us put down 10% earnest money so we don’t back out of the contract.

Legally in the contract they have another 30 days to finish, which might be finished by then.

So my question is, if we purchase the house, can I legally put a sign on my garage door or a banner just to get back at the builder? And inform new home buyers to be careful of these people, For making us suffer for this long? Would there be any issues with that?

Hello, first time posting here.

Would like to know what others have to say?

I met with a local investor he said when he started, he had $5 million cash, he leveraged that and got $25 million. I didn’t get into deal how he did that.

But if I have $2 million liquid cash ready to use, how would you use it and what would you do with it?

Thanks!
