My self storage is a much better CAP rate than NNN investments, but not eligible for 1031.

Any info on the Self Storage you're trying to unload? #of units? Location? Asking Price?

Hey Dexter,

Welcome to BP! I am in Indianapolis native and now an investor. Couldn't agree more with Brian's comments. There are tons of great pockets just blocks from no-go areas (obviously all dependent on your investment criteria).

Best of luck to you. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need any help.

@Andrew Bonar I'm excited for you. That post alone got me excited for all of my upcomong goals. Love the enthusiasm.

I'm from Indianapolis as well and would enjoy connecting. A handful of us BP members have started a very informal BP meet up focused on networking and meeting other local investors. Our next meet up is at The District Tap on the northside on January 23, 6-8PM. Hope you are able to make it.

Just to provide an update to anyone following along still. We are having our next meet up on...

January 23rd, 6-8pm at The District Tap on the northside.

The District Tap - 3720 E 82nd St, Indianapolis, IN 46240

This is just a networking meeting. Very informal, and planning to share our goals, experience, and have some food and drinks. Please come and enjoy whether you're experienced or just wanted to get started. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

To add to @Bryan Richardson, we would like this meet up to grow. If you come across this post and are interested in joining, we will make sure to post meeting locations and times in here as we will continue to have these each month.

Not sure if you should come? Here's what we discussed and some of our goals moving forward... We do not want this to ever become a paid event. Everyone needs networking opportunities free of charge. We will use this as a great opportunity to help one another; not to give our sales pitches. If your service is of use to other, great, please share. But we don't want this to be a platform for which to sell our products/services.

We would like to have 50 people in the meet up by the end of 2020. We focus on sharing our experiences and goals to see how we can help one another to achieve all of our goals together. As we move forward we will also try to bring in experienced speakers in the RE world.

Be on the look out for the January meet up, and start your 2020 strong!

Thanks again to all who set up and attended the last meeting.

Hello Indianapolis Investors! Has anyone had a good experience with the Indianapolis REIA meet ups? I've been able to find both the INREIA and the CIREIA. INREIA has held their last two meeting on a webinar and CIREIA charges $40 for non members to show. I'm willing to spend that money but only if someone recommends this as a NEED TO GO meeting. Otherwise, I am bummed there is not a more involved meet up with young and old excited investors looking to network, find deals, and share stories over some drinks or dinner? Or, maybe I am missing it.

Let me know if anyone in the area has attended these meet ups and highly suggests them for a young investor.

...or, if anyone would be interesting in attending a new meet up - free of cost! Attendees are only allowed to attend if they have a relentless search for self-education, networking, and fun! It would be informal, food provided, maybe some drinks, and we would try to set up a speaker each time. Speakers would be local investors or entrepreneurs looking to learn and share their story, followed by networking and building relationships with like-minded people.
