Walter Roby jr I use credit karma too, that is when I realized when I bought my truck the dealership dinged my credit 16 times...16!! If this happens do you know of any measures to take to get that off your credit score? Currently I am in the high 600s but I can imagine it would be in the 700s if those inquires were not there.

Thank you guys for your input! It's back to the drawing board to set different goals. I appreciate your help. Anthony Geren let's connect I will PM you. Greg S. Thank you for letting me know. I will change my goals to crunching numbers on deals versus going to open houses. I know you are saying to stay away from SFH, but would you consider a neighborhood full of small 2 bedroom 2 bath houses? In the market I am in those seem to be renting high and fast, especially when they are around the big businesses that are coming to the DFW area and in Plano.

I just wanted to get some advice from seasoned investors for people who are new and are starting to take steps towards buying. I do not own rental properties, however my wife and I have set a goal to go to at least 2-3 open houses a week, possibly more if there are several close by. I am also going through the free course and have been listening to the podcasts as well.

What can I do to learn more and continue to grow? The house we are living in now, will be our first rental, but I want to add an additional or two in 2 years time..

With me 20 years old and having limited exposure to credit, what would be a good way to make sure my credit is up to par when I take out a loan for the near future?

Hey Jose!

I have not gone through the ultimate beginners guide yet. Is that the webinar? I was planning on going to the Rich Dad Poor Dad seminar next weekend. What do you think about Robert

Kiyosaki strategy with multi-family units?

I am still trying to figure out a good way to get into those meetup groups and what not, I just don't know where to start! I appreciate your advice!

Good Morning Everyone!

My name is Cameron Alaniz and I am 20 years old in the Dallas area. I am interested in getting started in Real Estate (buy and hold) with multi-family units with a mixture of flipping properties to fund the initial purchase of the multi-family units. My goal is to have at least 10 by the time I am 40. The reason being, I want to have a self-funded homeless non-profit in the future. My wife also wants to be able to start her own Family/Children's camp, where broken family's can come in and restore their faith in God and help them heal. We are far away from that, as we are young and just recently had a beautiful daughter. My wife is currently in the process of getting her masters and I am in the process of getting my Bachelors in business and I am aspiring to get an MBA in Finance. So while we have a little prep work to do, I believe, it is never too early to submerse yourself in the knowledge.

I am excited to learn more from the successful professionals here. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with me and everyone else on this website.
