Hey Dave, I would like it to be a rental, however I’m having trouble finding a rate that works with the market rent. I pretty much break even with everything I’m finding. The rehab took longer than expected, rates went up, and values decreased slightly since I bought it.

Hey Keyonte! I only have one unit at this time but I am looking to grow in the future. I just want to make sure that I am putting away enough money for taxes and also getting the most savings. Can your tax professional help with that or do I have to have a real estate business?

Thank you! Yes I guess I was referring to registering the home as a rental with the city, not the actual tenant.

I have a duplex in Detroit, MI. I am living in one unit which makes it my primary residence. Do I need to register a tenant for the other unit, even though it’s considered my primary residence? Thanks in advance.
