I'm not completely certain of how often, but they do expo events a few times a year. Maybe about 4 times a year. We try to publish them here and on our Facebook page a week or two in advance of the event.

Tax liens can be very profitable and a great way to diversify your account. I have found Ted Thomas to be a great resource when it comes to starting out investing in tax liens. Did you know you can invest in tax liens using tax free and tax deferred money in a self-directed IRA?

In regard to self-directed IRA's they allow you to use money in your IRA to invest in alternative investments that generate returns that are tax free or tax deferred. The most common alternative investments are real estate, notes, mortgages and precious metals. However you can invest in a large variety of other things as long as it is not deemed a collectible item or is life insurance. There are also some regulations and prohibited transactions that you should be aware of. The biggest thing being that you personally can not receive benefit from an asset in your IRA until you reach retirement age.

We are a SDIRA administrator, but out of respect for bigger pockets we don't want to blow our own horn. Below are 3 things to consider when selecting a custodian/administrator for a self-directed IRA.

1. Knowledge (They actually know what they are talking about)

2. Customer service (can you reach a person, how quickly?)
