This is a really smart strategy, and I definitely plan to stay at home until I’m financially ready. Luckily, my parents are very supportive and even willing to invest with me, which is a huge advantage. One of my biggest questions is about house hacking—why would it be the smartest strategy if I’m currently living at home for free? Would there be a creative way to structure a deal where I could make a property my primary residence while still renting it out, even if I’m staying with my parents?

I’m 17 (turning 18 soon) looking to get started in real estate investing. I’ve been reading books, watching podcasts, and learning as much as I can, but my biggest challenge right now is figuring out the best strategy to start—especially with little capital.

I’ve heard house hacking is a great way to get started, but I’d love to hear from experienced investors. If you were starting over today, how would you approach real estate investing as a young beginner, and how would you acquire the capital needed for an investment?
