Definitely looking for Fix and rent. Looking for a market that can provide some sustainable Cash flow. Any appreciation would just be an added bonus but I think stability is my main focus.

New to Real Estate in the Austin area. I'd love to invest in an area somewhat close to Austin, but realize $40k probably won't get too far in Austin, TX area.

My question: What markets would others out there recommend within a 150 mile radius around Austin that I could take $40k and get started in real estate. Why would you recommend these markets?

Hello Everyone.

Wondering if anyone has had any success with rental markets in the Wellington Heights neighborhood in Cedar Rapids. It seems as though the houses are priced well. It is close to Coe College which could be a draw for students to rent, but I've heard that SE Cedar Rapids can be tricky at times.

Does anyone invest in this area or have any thoughts on this area of Cedar Rapids?

Hello Everyone!

I'm new to the idea of real estate investing! I've been listening to the Bigger Pockets podcasts, reading many real estate books and just trying to learn as much as possible about real estate investing so when the time comes, I'm prepared and ready to jump in by buying my first rental property!

I'm currently located in Iowa City, IA but will be moving to Austin, TX in the next couple weeks. Would love to hear any opinions on either of these markets as I'm currently researching what it would be like to purchase in Austin vs Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area. Many differences as one is much more expensive but one would be managed from a distance!

Glad to be part of a great real estate community!
