Hey Butch! Surprised no one has reached out. I'm a realtor, but I work with real estate investors in the area. A lot of the properties I work with need some repair, at least cosmetically. I'd love to chat more about the investment side, but it seems like you're more interested in something you can move into immediately. Let's talk more if you want some opinions on the investment side with your daughter, there are lots of opportunities you just have to know where to look!

Not an immediate rush since she has a year lease at the house/duplex she moved into.  But she's eager and so am I. I assume this is the perfect time for us to learn how to do this. She'll have roughly 2 years minimum to house hack in Chapel Hill.

We just moved her into a house that is duplex style at 123 Johnson St with 4 bedrooms on each side as a renter.  I'm literally trying to "test run" the house she's in to help me understand the math.  A friend is trying to donate some time here and there to educate me but it's in bits and pieces b/c he's very busy.

From what he said, the properties you reference are what we'd want. I think she'd be fine with one or two roommates in a private house, but then we'd have no luck qualifying for the financing.  Pretty sure to qualify, we'd need to use the proven rental income of a multi-unit property for her to buy it and house hack.

Daughter is a sophomore at UNC & just started renting a house.  Moved her in Saturday and just learned about house hacking the week before.

Need suggestions or leads on a duplex/multifamily we can go in with her as a 1st home.  The realtor shows ZERO available.  Zillow shows ZERO.

We need to find her a better part of town.  The house she's renting with roommates is not ideal.

Really open to all ideas that can get her in a better place and moving in a positive direction financially since she most likely will go to grad school there is as well.

Thank you in advance.

Looking to connect with insurance agents that can give me a quote on a multi family property.  It would be a combination of long term and short term rentals.

Thank you!

 Hi,

I'm happy to help as well if you need multiple quotes.

No.  That was specifically my question.  I wanted to lock it in before it got locked into his BK.  He's under contract now.  Couldn't find an attorney locally to spell it out for me that didn't want a fortune.

Found a lot we would like to build an efficiency cabin/garage on to VRBO for a few years until our daughters get through college.  Owner is about to go into bankruptcy and it was gifted to him by his mother.

Can he owner finance it to us to keep it out of his bankruptcy so we can get it locked in until we are ready to pay in full next year?
