Hi BP Community! I am a recent college grad looking to start investing in rental properties soon. I am relocating to the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas and would love to network with whoever I can to meet up, talk RE, and get more involved in the market! Thanks.

@Nick Flint Yes I do! If I go the FHA route I will definitely have enough money for a down payment at least.

Hello BP Community!

I am graduating from college this Spring and am looking to get into a market (either Minneapolis, MN or Des Moines, IA area) to start acquiring multi-family properties to BRRR. I have enough capital saved up for a down payment but will look to get some type of loan (either FHA or Conventional) and will be looking to work with local banks to secure that. My question for you BP Community is are banks scared of giving recent college grads with student debt hanging over their head loans for mortgages? The only full time work experience I have is through internships so I don't have a steady income that can support a mortgage (worst-case scenario) but I do have a high credit score that I have built up over my college career. Let me know your thoughts. Appreciate the future input!

@Derek Savage interesting thread you got going here. Please take a read of my insight I’m giving here.

I am currently a senior in college, graduating this spring. Have worked all throughout college to put some entry investment capital together while gaining an education as well. The only thing you can do here is trust your gut. If you want to be a real estate investor solely, then skip college, make some change, then hop into a market. If you want to gain an education to supplement real estate investing or use as a main source of income to supplement your investing (my route) then go to college, work, etc. No one said you can’t skip the dorms, get a loan for a cheap college house, gain landlord experience while positive cash flow off fellow friends/students in college and really learn hands on real estate while gaining an education through college. Just an idea. With whatever path you choose, good luck and stay hungry.

Hello BP community! I am looking to get into an out of state market within the next year and want to start putting together my “team” to put together some investment deals. I want to first start out with evaluating realtors. I am curious as to what criteria, if any, is used when researching realtors and narrowing down a good fit. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

To all those in the MN metro area, consider coming to @DaveCrussel monthly meet ups. Great way to engage with and meet other real estate investors in the twin cities ranging from all levels of experience. More brains the better!

Hello BP World! My name is Brett Staniforth and I currently live in the Minneapolis, MN metropolitan area. I have been a part of Bigger Pockets world for about half a year but am starting to get more involved. I am currently a Senior at Iowa State University studying Supply Chain Management & Marketing. I am a Business Development Intern in Aerospace Industry, specific to Military applications. Outside of work I take about 3 hours out of each day to study real estate/sales and aspire to become a real estate investor and realtor. I have a strong drive and am determined to learn and grow to become successful in real estate, to one day take my career to heights I can only dream of.

Currently, I am more focused on gaining knowledge and experience, so I will be better prepared to dive into real estate once I graduate from my undergraduate. I am actively developing a business plan for the future  I am trying to narrow down the route to go down within real estate, but currently am eyeing small multifamily properties such as duplexes, tris, and quads and from there, get into large complexes like apartments and condos once I am more experience and financially stable. I'm still a newbie and have quite a bit to learn, but I am targeting investment opportunities in the Minneapolis, MN and Dallas, TX areas. I look forward to connecting and contributing with you all!

-Brett
