You can also check a little bit further away from Porto but near a metro station, could be easier

 Thanks for your advice.
However, what specific areas would you recommend?
Think Vila do Conde is also overpriced?

I'm from Portugal, and I'd recommend investing in emerging suburban areas of Lisbon and Porto.

Well, that's something I've learnt here about my country.
Don't think it is as bad as David mentioned about Spain. Eviction processes here have become much faster now. Takes 3 months from what I was told.

Post: Anyone onboard from Porto Portugal ???

Hi David.
I'm a local from Porto, and I've gotta say investing in downtown had its days a couple of years ago. At the moment we are sitting on top of the bubble.
But if you can find a good deal in emerging areas, I'd go for it. Anything around 15km radius around downtown can apreciate a lot in the long term as the city is expanding.

From 2010 to present day Real Estate has exploded in Portugal.
I'm now curious to know if you went through with this deal...

Being a Realtor doesn't teach you anything about investing. Just like working on computers doesn't teach me anything about buying IT stocks. Most agent training is less than 1% investor focused. What you do get out of it is direct access to the MLS and a job that lets you see more properties, analyze more deals, and hopefully build a better network.

 Thanks for your reply Bryan.
If you were in my shoes, would you do it or not?

Hey guys!
I'm a new guy here, and I do have some contact with Real Estate as I was managing several Airbnb rental units, and dealt with many landlords in the process.

I'm reading the best books I find about RE (you can recommend some too), and listening to Podcasts.

But I wander if I become a Realtor myself, I'll be able to learn so much more pratical knowledge, than I get from books. Moreover, all books are focused on the United States market, and some stuff does not apply in Portugal.

I have some rental sublettings that give me a passive income that is enough to survive right now. That's important because starting realtors don't get a salary in companies like Remax and Era. But they accept pretty much anyone who's interested in being a realtor, and has decent looks and selling skills.

Just wander if it would be worth my time.

Kind regards,
Bruno

Hey guys!
I was a Airbnb property manager for the last year (rented 6 houses, sublet them on the website), but as the goverment raised the taxes six times, I decided to sublet those houses to international students making a smaller, but almost passive income.

Now, I want to have more of these reach a confortable montlhy passive income. As I want to be a real estate investor with no money down.
I've just found out about this community. The only real estate Podcast I was listening before was from Jay Massey.
Do you guys recommend any online course I can purchase on how to become a real estate investor without putting my own money upfront?

Thanks guys :)
