If I buy a house hack that needs work that is projected to take 8-9 months and can't reside in the house until it is completed or can only be there between jobs can I still claim it as a primary residence? Can this still work as a house hack and can still rent it 1 year after purchase? Thanks!

Hi! I recently visited Lexington KY and was brought to the Melrose/Oakpark area near the new distillery area. I was looking for any information on that area as far as it being a good investment area for long term rentals. Hi! I am looking for any recommendations on real estate agents in the Fort Lauderdale/Delray area. I am looking to purchase in the next 6 months. I am from NJ for now but hopefully in the next 3 to 4 years will be making the move (at least part time) to Florida. I am mostly interested in long term rentals. I am not afraid of some cosmetic work or properties that can't be rented for the first year.
