Thank you both, really helpful info!

I am looking at the STR market there in Oregon but am concerned about the local legislation around STRs. I'm specifically looking in Lincoln County or surrounding areas but am open to other areas as well. Does anyone have any insight on what the local laws are around short-term rentals? How difficult is it to get your property permitted and how do you see this changing in the future? Any insight is much appreciated. Thank you!

@Scott Anderson Ok Thank you!

@Scott Anderson That sounds like a great plan but is 3% down usually enough to get a loan especially being a college student? I won’t have a credit history or anything.

@Tchaka Owen LOL Thank you very much for the advice and crediting him!

@Jon Reed Thank you very much for the advice! I will be researching real estate in my free time and looking into getting an RE license.

I am 17 and I will be going to college next year. I am very eager to start a career in real estate but I am not sure when or how to start.

I will be going to college next year so I am not sure if there is any way that I can invest in real estate while in college or if I should wait till I graduate. Money will be an issue since I will have student loans weighing me down. Also, is there anything that I could be doing now to better prepare for real estate investing in the future?

I have done some research into the BRRRR strategy and I think that is what I am going to shoot for. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
