Hello,

My fiancé and I are looking into Colorado Springs or Phoenix to invest in with our 1031 exchange. We have chosen these two cities since she has the availability to transfer with her company and the opportunity to eventually escape the expensive and hectic California lifestyle. I have done some research and these two cities are neck to neck for real estate investing opportunities. We are in our late 20s so we don’t really have a preference on hot weather vs having 4 seasons so we have decided to chose the city that has better real estate investing opportunities. So what do you think would be a better opportunity?

@JoeHoms, I have been thinking about doing flips.I have the capitol and my friend has the construction aspect so we were going to get with an agent and see what there is out there. @Karen We are in the Longbeach area.

Hello Joe,
My problem is I am unable to find these meet ups. Truthfully being in California I would like to speak with some local investors to see how they are profiting with their investments here in California. With the high cost, high taxes, strict land lord restrictions, and older structures the number just don't add up. I don't even see how you can break even here.

Hello BP,

I just transitioned out of the military and decided to stay in Southern California. Currently I don't have any mentors, advisors or even fellow investors to associate with. I have searched on the internet for meetup groups or seminars, but with Covid going on it has been difficult. Maybe other members might have some insight on this topic. Thank you for any advice

Hello BP,

I am honored to be part of this group where I can skip out thousands of google searches and research tons of information on here from many others that have the same ideas. During my time in the military I learned never to sell a home. When I was ordered to relocate to other states for my duty I decided to rent my current house and buy another one in my new location. I have done this for 5 years now and have a total of 3 single family rentals. After serving 6 years in the Marine Corps and have transitioned out of the military I would like to focus more of my time in real estate investing. Currently I am planning on selling a second home and moving onto multifamily residences in the Phoenix, Az area or Southern California. Hopefully I can chat with other investors and hopefully find some mentoring groups
