Post: Advice on Real Estate Agent

Hello BP!!

I am a rookie investor and looking to purchase my first property, through my local REIA group, I found a rock star real estate agent (we will call her Pam). Problem is, Pam is really busy and doesn't want to make the commute to show listings, so she passed me off to one of her assistants (Jordan). Jordan is a new real agent with 6 months of experience and doesn't invest in properties herself. Now even though Jordan will be showing me the listings, Pam said she will still help negotiate contracts, running comps, and answer any questions.

Should I try to get a different agent? I wanted to work with a rock star agent who has a lot of experience with investment properties and someone who could help fill my needs, not necessarily someone new.  However, I still like working close to Pam who has a lot of referrals and contractors and network. I am interested in long term relationships and people who can help years down the road.

What are your thoughts?

Post: Do you use a Financial advisor

As a newbie starting out, I am beginning to wonder how beneficial it would be to have a financial advisor/consultant to help in the first initial properties, or possibly long term.

So I am curious how many investors here on BP use financial advisor and/or consultants? Are they worth it? Do you even need them? Do you prefer to seek help on forums and other investors? Were they a huge help or a rip off?

Thank you for any feedback!

@Luis Perlish gotcha! I would love to transition to multi family and apt builders. This is possible through the brrrr method?

@Michael Jones thanks, Mike! I would love to talk properties, most of my inner circle aren’t interested in RE so I would love to chat. I’ll send you a connection request .
