Well I just finished writing my profile introduction and uploading a picture because I was getting sick of looking at the gray tie'd avatar already. So here I am! Glad to be introducing myself in this forum and I look forward to working with all of you.
For a little bit of background, I've been married to my wife Jackie since 2005. We have 3 children. I joined the US Navy in 2007 and joined the submarine force after getting my degree, a B.S. in Physics from the University of Arizona. BEAR DOWN! The Navy has given me many opportunities and life lessons that I'll always be grateful for, but we've made the decision to transition back to the civilian world.
When we were transferred to Connecticut to begin our tour on the USS Virginia, we purchased our first home, using a VA, 3.75%, 30 year loan. The home has been great and we're now preparing it to rent out in 2018 when I leave the Navy.
I'm working now on adding details to my business plan. But my main goal is to own 10 single family homes 10 years from now. Since I'm not sure yet where I'll be working when I get out, there's still a lot of uncertainty in the details of the plan, though I have a pretty straightforward timeline and the big picture figures down. When I get a chance I'll try to post it in a forum for some constructive criticism of it.
