@Garrett Brown Thanks for the suggestions. The claim process has been started, and I'm looking at the SBA disaster loan programs. Much appreciated!

Hey folks,

For those who have been through a natural disaster, tell me what you wished you'd have known. Helene dropped a massive tree on one my properties in Greenville SC. There is roof damage, probable damage to the trusses, and the water line busted. As the tree is cleared and we get access to the property, what should be done to be most efficient?

1) Should I file the claim now to 'get in line' prior to knowing the extent of the damages?

2) Should I have a home inspector take a look at the home to see everything in the home that may have been affected that an adjuster may overlook, or that I may not report because I don't see it?

What other things should I know that I'm not even thinking about and what do you wish you'd have known?

Thanks for all your insight!

Ben

I’ve used Houses & Then Some, and have been pleased with their work, and specifically their communication with me. They provide great detail on things taking place with my properties and I feel like I’m kept informed about what I need to know.

@Jay Jules I'd love to be made aware of any properties in the Upstate area.
