-What city in the desert would you recommend?

-What are thoughts on DHS?

Prices are pretty attractive in this area but the city does have a bad rep.

I do like that DHS is located right between Palm Springs and JT.

-Does the house MUST have a pool to perform well?

-what kind of house do you think would be rented more often:

Small 2b/2n dessert bungalow? traditional 3bd/2b? Big mansion with private pool and luxury appliances?

Hello,

I have been looking to invest into a STR property.

I have my eyes on some property in Florida, Tennessee and Arizona so far.

Since I live in LA, a place couple hours from where I live would be ideal so I’m also considering the Joshua tree and the Desert hot springs area.

My concern with the desert is that this market looks already saturated with STR and I'm worried the property would not rent often enough to cover my expenses or cash flow.

If anybody could share any tips, recommandation and preferred location that are performing well that would be great.

@Caleb Bryant Hey Caleb, I'm actually looking for a turnkey or something with minor cosmetic needed.

 To start, I’d like to find a house in the 80K / 120k price range, that would rent for $800 / $1200.

And if everything goes well, the goal is to have a few houses in the next couple years!
