Post: 100 Hour Work Week Question

I just finished listening to Episode 278 with Charles Roberts. A topic that stuck out to me was the hard work portion. Charles puts in roughly 80-100 hours per week towards real estate investing. @Brandon Turner mentioned he put in the same amount of hours. I understand real estate takes a tremendous amount of grit, but what does the average day look like for you if you are one of the investors putting in 100 hours a week? Were you always working 100 hours per week or did it eventually snowball to this amount?

@Khoa P. The meetings are usually held next to Vermont Square Library (1201 W 48th St).  However, on March 17 at 10 am we are meeting at a member's flip in West Adams.  Address is 2624 7th Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90018.  She did an awesome job with the flip.  You should come and check it out.

Good morning BP,

Our next South LA BP meeting will be held on March 17th (St. Patrick's Day) at 10 AM and it will be held at Meredith's multifamily property that she recently flipped (yayyyy!!!)! The property is in South Los Angeles near West Adams neighborhood. The address is: 2624 7th Avenue Los Angeles 90018.

We do ask that you bring a lawn chair, if you have one just incase we're short on seating.

If you have any questions please contact me or KJ Lee.

Also, join our Facebook page (South Los Angeles Biggerpockets) for meeting updates and local RE news!

Thanks for the mention @Shawn Ward.  My fiance and I started the south Los Angeles meetup after we purchased our duplex south of USC.   Since the beginning we've been focusing on meeting with like minded people to help each other.  No sales pitch included.   Santa Monica is a great meetup as well.  There's some great guidance for purchasing out of town properties.

I'm a commercial real estate broker based out of downtown and I'd be happy to see another group formed in downtown to address the other areas outside of south Los Angeles.  The south Los Angeles meeting is held on the 3rd Saturday at 10 AM.   So any day/time outside of that works.  Maybe the 1st Saturday at 10 or 11 am?

Hello Biggerpockets,

We're having our South LA BP Meeting on Saturday February 17th at 10AM. The meeting will be led by Los Angeles flippers, @Shawn Ward and Meredith M (yay!). Also a Hard Money Lender will be there to answer your questions regarding financing. The meeting will be held at the Vermont Square Library Branch (under the big tree to the left of the library); please bring a lawn chair or beach towel.

We also have a Facebook Group: South Los Angeles Bigger Pockets

Great job John Gammon Anderson How was the transition investing outside of Los Angeles? I’m currently investing in Los Angeles but we may make a move to another state in the south.

The owner of this property received a variance several years ago to build two units on his property.  The property is currently rented to an auto body shop where rent is $3,000 per month (Month-to-month lease).  The area is mostly residential.  Asking price is $515,000.  The owner is out of state and would like to sell for the purpose of purchasing properties closer to him.  Please message me for address or if you have additional questions.
