Yeah I think @Account Closed is right.  It's not worth the headache even though there's nothing illegal about it.  I can see why many landlords would prefer to invest in other states rather than update the properties they have in Los Angeles.  It's disappointing to drive around Los Angeles and see so many properties in rent controlled areas in disrepair.  The main question should be how do we get tenants to become owners rather than just keeping them tenants their whole lives.

Join us at our April Meeting at 10AM in Inglewood. The meeting will be hosted by Clarence Johnson at his wife's daycare center, Sunshine Academy Daycare, in the Inglewood Commercial Corridor.

Clarence will be presenting a First Time Home Buyers class after our meeting from 12PM-2PM at the same location. BPers are welcome to stay for the presentation if they'd like.

Come network and hang out with your local Bigger Pockets members at the new Rock & Reilly's Bar & Restaurant at USC Village. Happy hour specials are available until 7PM and USC Village parking & street parking is available. Rock & Reilly's USC said they do validate parking for 3 hours however please contact the restaurant for additional details.
