@Allison F. sounds like a very exciting endeavor.  I don't think you would lose with either of those names.  If I were chosing I would pick Salthouse simply because of the biblical connection.  You need to figure out which fits you.

Contact a pest control company. They can have someone locate it and either remove or chemically treat it to remove the smell. Be blessed daily

Hello @Anthoney Perkins as a realtor I understand somewhat this situation.  I agree that being caddy is not in the best interest of her client. If the seller has a signed binding listing agreement with this agent she is your path to the owner. The seller will only deal through the agent unless your name was reserved in the agreement before it was listed. If you want the house bite your tongue and call the agent let her know you are a serious buyer who can provide proof of funds and would like to purchase this property.  I've asked many times for proof of financing or funds prior to showing properties if I do not know the individual and I have had rude people hang up on me. Our business is not easy and scary sometimes.  If this is a good investment you should call her back and put your deal together OR if you have a realtor you work with in the area call them and get them to write your offer. I would highly suggest building rapport with realtors in your area they will be happy to put any deal together for you!

@Erik E. that sounds like a great goal.  I've been doing real estate for 22 years and having your license will be beneficial to your investing career.  Real estate is a relationship business you have to build relationships to build a real estate career plus it is crucial to learn your market area.  As far as immediate income it depends on the market you're in.  When I started I used my clerical skills to assist a broker so that I could have income on the side before I started closing deals.  It took me about 5 years before I had a solid business of repeat clients.  Real estate is commission only so you have to close deals to get a check.  Some people can do this much faster!  It will be beneficial to your investing career to have your license because you will learn the industry, the procedures and be able to pick up investing leads.  Best of luck to you on your endeavors.

Be blessed daily!!
