Has anyone been able to complete the process of having their inspections done on residential properties while the city offices are closed?  I know that pursuant to Kemp's Executive order, we are permitted to engage "private professional providers," but does anyone know exactly how that process works?  Thanks in advance for any insight.

If you are going to replace the roof and windows anyway, I’d go with a gray roof, black windows and sconces, and paint the house white (I think the vertical siding fits the house, even if you replace it).  I’d trim the tree back a bit, add some landscaping and a gray stone paver walkway. You might also think about bringing in a warm wood tone somewhere, maybe in the address marker.

Agree that if the kitchen cabinets are wood, I’d paint them white.  Replace the countertops with a white, gray and tan laminate that has the look of granite.  This will tie it in with the floors which I’d leave unless they look worse in person.  Paint the walls a greige color.

In the bathroom, I’d deal with the tub in the cheapest way possible (sometimes, replacing can be cheaper than reglazing).  I’d replace the vanity with an updated one, I think this is worth the cost.  Paint the walls a fresh white and stage the room with a  modern rug and shower curtain (to conceal the tile) and accessories (towels, a small plant, glass apothecary jars for cotton balls, etc.).

I wouldn’t want him to come back at this point.  It’s not as if he’s telling you about an emergency or illness.  You should be glad to be out before having given him any money.  Move on and don’t waste anymore time.

Can you look at the permits?  In my area, they can be searched online and the GC is usually listed.

Award Roofing just had the best of the three quotes that I got for my current project.  They also replaced the roof on my own house last year.

Has anyone had vinyl siding installed over asbestos siding as a way of successfully avoiding the abatement of the asbestos?  From what I understand, as long as the original siding is encapsulated, you can do this safely.  If so, would you please share your experiences and the Atlanta metro area installer you used?  Thank you.

After landscaping, I'd paint the siding white, the shutters and trim black, use black numbers for the address, change the door out for a wood door to wood and encase the post in wood.  I would not paint the brick.
