Post: Anywhere in Sarasota county with no HOA and newer homes?

I am looking for a property for myself in central or south west Florida.

Sarasota is one of my favorite places, as it has nice beaches and it's close to Tampa if I need to get a job in the tech sector.

But almost all the homes in Sarasota are part of a HOA, which is a deal killer for me.

I did find about North Port, which is also in Sarasota county but about 30 minutes drive to any nice beach.

Can you recommend nice places like Sarasota but without HOA communities? I'm looking for a house with about 1 acre of land and preferably newer than 2002 because of the new hurricane codes.

I am also considering east of Naples, eg. Golden Gates area.

Post: Homeowners insurance for fire only?

Hello Everyone

I'm looking to buy a house in Florida as my primary home. But home insurance is very expensive in this state. Would it be possible to only get fire coverage for the house? I will not have a mortgage on the house.
