Quote from @Mohammed Rahman:

Hi @Arunabh Ganguli - few hundred thousand dollars ins't necessarily low for NYC, just depends on the type of deals you're going after.

I'm an investor, and broker, in NYC.

If you're fairly new to the investing game, I recommend going to some real estate meetups (not NYU events because those may be too high level for what you're trying to do) to brush shoulders with lenders, attorneys, brokers, etc. - all of these people will have access to deals offhand that you should be trying to get into.

Of course wholesalers can also help.

I host monthly small-ish type meetups in LIC if you'd like to join, next one is this Thursday 24th from 6-8pm in the STARBUCKS on Jackson Ave in LIC.

Shoot me a text too and we can connect, I've taken a few one off courses at NYU and stopped because being in the actual trenches close to the transaction was more fun :)

Sounds good. I just send you a message and connection request with some contact info. Thanks for the insight!

Hey Tim! I'm Arunabh, a new investor looking to invest in my first rental property in or near the NYC area. I saw that you were nearby, so I was wondering if you were interested in pooling our funds together along with some other investors who lack sufficient capital to make the best possible investments within this market. I have $185k in capital to start investing with and I'm currently working with two mentors who have over 40 years of combined investing experience and own thousands of properties.

Hey Bart! I'm Arunabh, a new investor looking to invest in my first rental property in or near NY. I know you’re pretty far south from the city, but I was wondering if you were interested in pooling our funds together along with some other investors who lack sufficient capital to make the best possible investments within this market. I have $185k in capital to start investing with and I'm currently working with two mentors who have over 40 years of combined investing experience and own thousands of properties.

Hello! I am a new real estate investor based in NYC and attending NYU Stern. I am interested in buy-and-hold single-family homes, potentially multi-family if it is a good deal, and I am looking to implement the BRRRR strategy. My hopes for this post is to connect with anyone in the NYC area or areas nearby who are doing it themselves to gain more knowledge, increase my exposure to good deals, and improve my investment models. I'm also starting out with only a few hundred thousand dollars budget which is pretty low for NYC, so if there's any other investors interested in pooling capital to gain access to more profitable properties, please don't hesitate to reach out!

I am looking forward to connecting!
