 I was in the same boat couple years ago. Start investing OOS vs buy a home in Bay Area? I picked the latter.  Thought my property was expensive 2 yrs ago with a 4.5% interest rate but still pulled the trigger. Now, it already appreciated almost $100k since I bought it. Just refi summer of COVID and locked in a 2.7% (FREE $$$). Worked hard, saved up  , read books , analyzed deals and now Im ready to pull the trigger for my OOS investing journey. Figure out what's your "WHY?" first  if you're undecided and everything will follow. Someone also once said that in  real estate " You don't Wait and Buy, but rather you Buy and Wait". Hi BP. Planning to refinance my primary home and also wanted to get pre approved to buy rental properties OOS. I've spoke to my old loan officer  and said that he can help me refinance and but only pre approve in CA. Do I need to find another lender where I will be investing in to get the pre approval? Can one lender do  both refi ( CA home) and pre approval for OOS investing ? Thanks guys.
