@Nick C. - I don't see in the statues where it says this is illegal for a licensed person to do...

@John Kent - It doesn't say a licensed person cannot do this.

One thing I've noticed though is the MLS does say "referral fee" so this has to be legal... The referral fee may be small and this is by no means how I'm planning on building my success, but a side opportunity to assist renters.

I'm new to Florida (tampa region) and trying to find different ways to build a reputation. Social media accounts are established, we have not yet set up direct mail yet, and may be setting a kiosk up at the UTC & International Malls. 

I have been contacted by several people looking to rent properties and I am wondering if I can receive compensation by bringing a potential tenant to a property and assisting them with signing the lease paperwork. Is this possible, legal, acceptable, or do most landlords decline the opportunity?
