Hello I’m April. And I am from Lake Charles, La. I’ve been Positioning myself to get my general contractors license. I’d like to shadow any work or talk with any contractors in my area that are willing. I know it’s a process and takes time, but I wanna get my hands dirty and educate myself as much as possible. It’s the beginning for me but I’m ready!

Good afternoon, are there any women residential contractors out there?? I’m currently taking a Contractors Seminar at my Community College. I’m just learning and starting my journey.  My goal is to get my license next year (Spring) is there anything I should be doing besides studying to prepare myself? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.

Gm BP! What other methods of contact do you use besides "cold calling" to buyers and Landlords? I have heard of bandit signs. Any info is appreciated.

Hello Everyone! I wanting to invest in my first property (thinking abt a rental) I believe it would be best to go w a private lender. I heard from a few and they all said I would need to put dn roughly 20-25%. That's a bit more than I expected, but I can continue to save and maybe take a different approach.  All this is driving me crazyyy. Are there any other approaches/direction to take? I am so determined to make this happen!

Hi everyone! I have a question for those who have rental properties. What would be the reasons as to why you would want a PM co to manage year rentals? Maybe you have multiple properties, don’t necessarily won’t to have contact with the tenants?

Wow! Thank you for your reply. I agree, BP is very helpful. I am leaning towards a multi family, I’m just a little iffy on the tenants and being a landlord. I mainly just want the experience to learn and understand more as an investor. I hear about water leaks allll the time bc of my job. So that can be annoying but is to be expected. But thanks for your tips!!  And best of luck to you and yr husband too!
